Betty Payne
BETTY PAYNE got her first big break
while still in her teens, when she won the Barbados Richard Stoute Teen
Talent Awards. She went on to show her versatility with the local band
“Le Groove” featuring Phillip 7 on lead vocals. BETTY PAYNE has worked on numerous musical collaborations, including co-writing and producing three songs on her first solo album, “Love Like Mine”, with Grammy Award winner Jimmy “Senya” Haynes. BETTY’s musical gift took her to China for the prestigious 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, where she performed the self penned song “MAKE THEM BELIEVE” in three major cities, sharing a stage with the likes of Sheila E., Taylor Dane, Dee Dee Bridgewater and jazz pianist Oliver Jones. For the past 2 years, whilst still performing at several shows and balls in Toronto Canada, BETTY has been the resident vocalist for the “FIVE STAR” Sandy Lane Resorts in Barbados. During this time she has performed for entertainment mogul Simon Cowell for two consecutive New Years Eve parties. To date, one of BETTY’s highest
achievements has been to perform as part of the opening act for John
Legend In Concert at the Sir Garfield Sobers Gymnasium in Barbados,
with Phillip 7 and the band Masala. |
